Heart Health

As people age their heart rate is slows down slightly and their heart may become bigger. Also your blood vessels become stiffer which, makes your heart work harder to pump blood through your body and can lead to high blood pressure and other health problems.

How to promote heart health:

Go for a walk, do some gardening, go for a swim do any fun activities and make it a part of your daily routine.

Eat a well balanced and healthy diet. Click ‘here’ for information on healthy eating or make an appointment with your local dietitian.

Take steps to manage your stress and learn strategies to deal with stress in a healthy way. Make an appointment with your local doctor and they can help you and can provide you with strategies or refer you to someone who can help.
