In type 2 Diabetes the body produces some insulin but does not produce enough for the body to work effectively. Type 2 Diabetes can be hereditary but is commonly cause by poor lifestyle choices such as overweight/obesity, physical inactivity and poor diet. Type 2 Diabetes may require some medication to increase the amount of insulin alongside lifestyle changes. Type 2 Diabetes accounts for 85-90% of Diabetic cases in Australia.
